About the Cluster

Jayadev Banana Fiber Extraction Cluster (JBFEC) came into reality with the sanction by the 32nd SSC of the Ministry of MS&ME, Govt. of India to establish the CFC by the Implementing Agency “Samaj Kalyan Foundation, Bhubaneswar” with Technical Support from “DSLR Consultancy, Hyderabad and Monitored by Nodal Agency “ Foundation for MSME Clusters, New Delhi”. Jayadev Banana Farmers & Artisans Association is the SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) under JBFEC to operate as the agency to way forward the mission of rural employment and economic development. The vision behind the cluster is total utilization of banana plants which remain unused and thrown by scores of banana farmers after taking away the banana on the one hand and organize the banana farmers to promote & support banana cultivation on a sustainable manner to get better benefit.
SPV Members
Initially, though 350 banana farmers in and around the cluster were taken as the SPV members, but looking at the interest of other banana farmers and artisans, we are on a mission mode to reach and include those interested people who are ready to promote banana farming and also support them in every possible way to sustain their income . The benefit for the SPV members is three-fold that includes benefit from direct selling of their unused banana stem, getting the products of the cluster in subsidized rate and linkage with the horticulture Department for promotion of banana cultivation.
CFC
The Common Facility Center (CFC) is located at Plot no. 3445, Prataprudrapur-2, PO-Bhakarasahi, Via- Banamalipur, Dist-Khurda, Odisha, amid the lush greenery of sugarcane fields, vegetable plantations and floriculture. The place is just 02 KMs. away from “Jayadev Pitha”, a natural park, dedicated to Poet Jayadev and attracting tourists round the year for its serenity and pleasant atmosphere.
